Advancing and Improving Mentorship (AIM) Program

Applications Now Open – Join the AIM Team!

Missouri S&T's Faculty Success invites applications for faculty to join the AIM team. You can help build a stronger mentoring culture on campus by joining the AIM team to develop and lead training for faculty mentors on campus.

You don't need to be a mentoring expert to join the AIM team. The team will work with the Center for the Improvement of Mentored Experiences in Research (CIMER), a national leader in mentor training, to develop and deliver mentor training for our campus.

Compensation:

  • $1,500 startup stipend (Spring 2026)
  • $1,500 annual stipend thereafter (subject to renewal)
  • Fully funded attendance at CIMER's virtual "Entering Mentoring Facilitator Training" (January 2026)

Time Commitment and Expectations:

  • Two-year initial commitment (Jan 2026-Dec 2027; renewable up to five years)
  • Attend 13.5-hour virtual CIMER training (January 26–30, 2026). Participants are expected to attend the entire training, so before applying please consider how you could adjust your schedule to accommodate this commitment. See below for more information about the training.
  • Collaborate with AIM teammates to develop and coordinate campus-wide mentoring resources and training
  • Facilitate two on-campus mentor trainings per year, starting in Fall 2026

Information about CIMER’s Entering Mentoring Facilitator Training (EMFT):

All costs of attending the training will be covered by Faculty Success. The 13.5-hour training will take place online at the following times:

  • Monday, Jan. 26: 10:00am–12:30pm
